STEVE & LAURA, THE WEDDING PREPARATION :: WESTIN HOTEL LANGKAWI

It's been quite a long time i'm keeping this photos collection of Steve & Laura's Wedding. It was happened on 25th June 2008, i was not able to upload any of our client's photos at that time due to the extremely busy schedule for wedding shooting session. The location was at Westin Hotel Langkawi & it was a 1st time assignment for our team to cover an International couple that tie their knot in Malaysia. What can i say...it was one of our precious experience in capturing "Mat Salleh" wedding, everything was totally different from our Malay wedding culture. Thanks a zillion to Steve & Laura, for the flight, the hotel, the food (adik beradik Laura terkejut tengok team GA makan nasi for lunch, sedangkan diorang makan salad je..hehe...perut Melayu).
Steve & Laura's family & relatives flew from Australia & some of them are from USA & Japan to witness the matrimony. We occupied around 15hours shooting frm 9am till midnite. The shooting was started early in the morning with breakfast time. Then we captured Steve enjoyed his own sweet time with his friends & family while Laura's & family busy doing the massage & make up. I love the way they handled the wedding, very calm & relax...no rushing...no tension...everything was ran smoothly except for the rain, (they was hoping to do the matrimony by the beach side). However, they have to follow plan B, they did it at the lobby area at the hotel. Then, they had a lovely dinner & dancing with all guest till midnite. Anyway, it was a memorable moment as it was very simple & sweet.

MY 'SMALL' DAY..ENGAGEMENT OF SURIYA & IRWAN
|
|
First of all... me & GA Team ingin mengucapkan Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri kepada semua. Sorrylah ek lambat sgt nak wish & lama gila tak load gambar. Ni after raya semua keje dah settle barulah nak load sikit2 gambar2 yg telah di shoot oleh team kami (termasuklah gambar2 sendirik coz nak naikkan semangat kerja dulu...hehe). maklumlah gambar2 & album2 utk client telah aku tungkus lumuskan utk di deliver sebelum raya, yakni bulan puasa aritu & gambar2 ngan album sendiri harus berada di tangga yg terakhir sekali utk disiapkan. Tapi nak load ni...kita punya dululah ye...sekali sekala.
Alhamdulillah after busy shooting sana sini ngan gambar2 client, akhirnya aku & Irwan bertunang jua...ceeewwwaaahhhh. (hehehe). The engagement was took place at my family house at Kg Pandan, KL. Tarikh bertunang ni dilangsungkan pada 23 Ogos 2008 aritu, satu hari sebelum birthday aku (nak cakap jugak birthday sendirik). Tak ingat sgtlah kitorang dah bercinta berapa tahun...nak masuk tahun kedua setengah kot...ingat lagi mula2 dulu cemana kitorang kenal, tru YM...then jumpa share bout photography & Irwan joint the team...then barulah kami jadi couple...sekarang dah jadi tunang. .
It was a very simple engagement event that was organised by me, myself. The preparation was made few months before the day & i did it one by one, bit by bit. Below are the list of the person who i wanna say thanks to & also about behind the scene story of each things that involved:
MY FIANCE, IRWAN:
Thanks to u Sayang, for the ring & suprised birthday watch. Ngeeee suka sgt. Love the ring coz it's represent me, myself...bulat-bulat, cute (perasan) & clumsy. Penat nak cari ring tu, coz i tak suka solitaire type of ring...nampak tak sesuailah ngan makcik yg lasak & kasar ni. The watch pun I suka sgt simple & rugged...yeah it is soooo... me. Thanks for the LOVE....& sorry for the ups & downs of my emotional feelings towards nak dekat2 engagement haritu. Maklumlah nervous. Love ya!
PHOTOGRAPHY:
Thanks to Sadiq & Raffi (adik Irwan). U all did a great job by giving me the photos that I loooooveee so much. Sadiq, kak Suriya suka most of the gambar esp during the make up, hantaran, gambar single pose & with friends...yang paling2 gue suka, gambar tepak sirih kesayangan gue. Raffi, i love ur shots also...i like most of the moment shots that u managed to capture, photos of my parents, ur family, me & the most craaaazzzyyy photo that i extremely like is the macro shots of my lovely engagement ring. Thanks to myself coz managed to capture my engagement ‘baju’ & few deco things.
THE DRESS:
Thanks to my Emak Cayang, she sewed my ‘baju’ exactly like my sketch in my future wedding journal! I did my sketch a year before I knew that I will get engage to Irwan. (angan-anganlah katakan). My emak did her effort in sewing the corset for me, for her first attempt. Love u Emak!
THE ‘HANTARAN’:
My hantaran to Irwan…I did by my own, 2 days before the day and a very last minute magic touch up by Alia (Irwan’s cousin & also GA freelance layout designer). The concept for my ‘hantaran’ to Irwan is sweet, natural yet masculine. (hahahaha…the bulky bow ribbon I did it nearly 5 months before the day….tak de masa nak buat last minit). I love my hantaran to Irwan.
Irwan’s hantaran to me…was made by Mama Irwan. Thank u Untie!. It was sweet & his mom & his sister did a great job. It look like classic touch & I just love it.. I didn’t know much bout behind the scene of the making for the hantaran from Irwan’s side. It was surprise…warna apa pun I tak dapat tahu until I’ve got the ‘hantaran’ on the day itself.
THE ‘MINI PELAMIN’:
Again I did it by my own, the sketch before the real thing. Thanks to Yamin (my cousin) without him I tak bolelah nak panjat2 tinggi2 nak staple gun semua kain2 tu. Thanks to Mama Irwan, coz bagi I pinjam kerusi jati tu. Thanks to my sister, tolong I glue gun all the butterflies. Thanks to Tatty, coz temankan I pergi beli bunga2 yg ada di sekitar tempat pelamin, hantaran & deco.
THE DECO & MINI GIFT:
All I did it by my own, and thanks to me myself (gila kuasa). From the back poster banner of me & Irwan, the scroll…until the table deco the photos of me & Irwan…all was designed by me & sent out printing by me. Except the shooting…Irwan shoot me (thank you Sayang) & I shoot him. Make it black & white, I love it & do it & done. The mini gift also we did it in house, thank you to My Busu, for her helping hands.
THE MAKE UP:
Thanks to my good friend Mona. Thank you make me up! Haha…from budak comot I kena jadi budak sopan santun for a day. Eventhough everybody quite shock with the blue eyeshadow…but it turn out to be so nice in the photos. U did a good job girl!
THE REPRESENTATIVE:
Thanks to Pakcik Usop & Kak Nurul jadi wakil family kami. Dari time merisik sampai tunang..harapnya sampai nikah nanti pun jadilah wakil kami lagi ye.
THE FOOD & CANOPY:
Telime kaceh utk Cik Yam yg masakkan sedap2 esp ayam goring utk semua tetamu yg hadir. Family Irwan kata ayam goreng tu sedap. Canopy pulak, terima kasih utk Abg Sham yg susah payah make sure mini2 canopy tu terpasang, walaupun tempat sangat sempit & tak rata.
THE FAMILY:
Thanks to all of family from both side. To Irwan’s Family & Relatives, thank you to all unties, uncles, nenek & cousins yg dating jauh nun dari Singapura Terima kasih sbb sudi dtg ke majlis kami. Tak lupa juga kepada sedara mara my family yg datang jauh dari Perak & Johor. Terima kasih semua.
MINTAK MAAF:
Kepada FAHMI & KIMIN selaku Senior Photographers dlm GA Team, aku mintak ampun kerana tak dpt bg korang shoot aku bertunang...malulah (eceh)...terpaksa assigned korang kepada tugasan lagi penting utk client kita. Thanks for sacrify guys...cayangg u all. Thousand apologize to all friends & clients if kami tak dapat nak jemput, majlis hanya kecil2lan utk keluarga kedua belah pihak. Tempat majlis yg tersangat kecil pun tak mengizinkan kami nak menjemput semua sekali. InsyaAllah if ada rezeki kenduri kahwin nanti, adalah jemputannya.

LOVE..WAS MADE FOR ME & U : KEENA & ABOL

After the solemnization ceremony during the day...the celebration for Keena & Abol continue at night. This time me myself managed to joint my team for this lovely dinner reception, because for the day i had to fullfill my other task for our other client. As we enter the dinner area we were so impressed with the decoration at Kelab Darul Ehsan, Ampang...(tak sempat nak tanya Keena siapa yg buat deco...sangat berjiwa)  .
Lovely..lovely...lovely couple...throughout the event they were soooo in love. Nothing more that i can say. Hoping u guys enjoy the photos.

SHARIFAH SAKINAH SYED ISHAK & ABOLFADZ DATO' ANUAR

Abolfadz (Abol)...a very unique name with a very humble character & Sakinah (Keena) is a very bubbly & a person with a big heart. Together...they become a very loving couple & can make others feel their love sparks. . Their solemnization was held at Keena's house at Ampang...& was filled with touching moments as they presented a slideshow of Keena's late father. Alhamdulillah everything went well. Congrats to both of them! Keena, hoping that ur friends abroad will enjoy watching ur photos here.

Selepas entry outdoor Fidzy & Miza last February...kami amat bersyukur di atas feedback yg amat positif drpd viewers di FP & also our client tru email. Ramai yg suka dengan concept 60-an utk outdoor photography. For this entry..our client Cik Fiena, already requested that she wanted Green Apple to capture her with her fiance Hairil in the same mood, same 60's concept. Is just that..kali ni kami shoot di sekitar kawasan Kuala Selangor & Tanjung Karang...berbanding yg dulu di Sabak Bernam.
I wanted to wish this Lawyer couple an advance Congratulations for their upcoming big day...(This 2008 year, banyak pulak Green Apple dapat client from a Lawyer & Engineer by profession). Suka tengok Fiena yg sgt bersemangat utk shooting outdoor ni. We did enjoy during the shooting...sampai i dah jadi makin gelap..hahaha...To Raffi, congrates also for improving a lot with your shots
All photos for this entry has been tru a lot of colour retouching & a lot of 'vignette' (darker corner effects) in order to create the 60's mood.

WIDEN OUR WINGS FOR COMMERCIAL SHOTS - BEHIND THE SCENE

As the time goes by...we have to spread our wings for survival. Alhamdulillah, by trust & our capability...we've been hired by Fluorescent Squid...obviously introduced by Kimin (GA Team Mate) to shoot the product of Hino for commercial purposes. Wedding photography still will be our first interests, but...to enhance our portfolio & diversify our skills & knowledge, we will do what ever it takes.
Talking bout, 'i'm a women photographer'...doesn't mean i can't do & shot like other male photographer. Alhamdulillah...for the past years i had gained experience in aerial shots (naik helicopter), atas bot kat laut (sampai mabuk2), terbaring, terendam dlm air & macam2 lagi...just to capture the best angle that is required. (Cuma blom dapat lagi 'diving license'...i dream of it!)
Just to share a few behind the scene shots during Hino photoshoot. Shiok! shoot dr atas kren (muka ku cuak), shoot dr atas bas, shoot bawah chasis lori...what priceless experience yg susah nak dapat selalu. Thanks a lot to Kimin, Fahmi & Raffi of GA Team member yg selalu bagi endless support & effort dalam menjayakan shooting ni. Hehe...eventhough sometimes ada keadaan tegang (time aku marah2..hehe) yg require fast actions & kerja yg lasak & efisyen from everybody...they are always by my side.
